What we screen

Exactly which sources are checked.

Every result lists each source separately. Anything we don’t screen is shown as “Not checked” — never as clear.

Linked by identifier (UEI, or NPI for organizations).

FAQ

Contractor screening, answered.

Is this SAM.gov exclusion check really free?

Yes. Anyone can run a limited number of single checks per day with no account. A free account removes the daily limit and adds batch checks of up to 10 companies at once.

How do I verify a subcontractor’s debarment status?

Search the subcontractor by UEI for the most reliable result — the UEI identifies exactly one SAM registration. A CAGE code works too. A company name search screens the closest registered match and tells you when other companies have similar names.

Which lists does the screening cover?

SAM.gov Exclusions, OIG LEIE, OFAC SDN, Consolidated Screening List, EPA ECHO, State Medicaid exclusions (CA), plus the company’s officers when we have them on file. Not yet covered: State Medicaid exclusions (other states), OSHA enforcement, FAPIIS. Those always show as “Not checked”, never as clear.

What is the difference between a flag and a possible match?

A flag means an exclusion is linked to the company by an identifier such as its UEI. OFAC, the Consolidated Screening List and EPA ECHO publish no identifier we can match on, so their hits are name matches only — shown as possible matches for you to review against the official list.

What is the screening record PDF?

A downloadable Exclusion Screening Record listing what each source returned, when each source was last updated, how the company was matched, a record ID and a content hash. It documents an automated screen; it is not a certification or a legal determination.

How current is the data?

Each source is refreshed by its own pipeline. The page shows the last successful update for every source, and the screening record prints each source’s date next to its result.
